A friend of mine recently got married for the second time. One of the criteria that she had for this second husband was that she had to be able to travel well with him. That’s because she had a number of bad travel experiences with husband number one and she didn’t want to have to go through the same kind of problems again when trying to travel with the next person with whom she fell in love.

The problem with the first husband was that he had a really different travel style from my friend. They did both enjoy traveling. However, my friend is an adventurer and this guy was more of a leisure activity guy. They would look at canada tours and whereas she would be looking at a rocky mountaineer vacation he would be looking at a lazier banff vacation package.

The two of them did have some great trips together but they required a lot of compromise. Both of them had to do things that they didn’t really want to do in order to be able to spend time together on the vacation or else they had to do activities individually instead of together. My friend got tired of traveling that way. She took several vacations with her new husband before deciding that they were suited to be married!
