The majority of the things that you will want to buy to accessorize your truck are things that you could purchase from any automotive store in your area. However, there are some things that you will want to buy from a place that specifically designs and sells only that item (or a limited number of items including that item).

Three items that you might want to buy from specialty automotive stores are:

• Bed Mats. If it’s going to protect your truck properly then it really needs to be custom made for the truck that you have.
• Truck Tailgate. This is especially true if you’re also getting bed mats because you want them to fit well together (and look good together!)
• Auto Meter Gauge. Gauges can really make or break the performance of your truck based on how well they work so you don’t want to go with a generic one here.

Basically you should ask yourself what the purpose is of the truck accessory that you are looking at. If the purpose is just looks then get whatever you think looks good. If the purpose is more functional or performance-based then look for stores that are going to specialize in what you need.
